Bleached!

‘Bleached’ is a compelling short project centred around the pressing issue of ocean plastic pollution, drawing inspiration from the devastating phenomenon of coral bleaching caused by human actions on our planet. The concept was brought to life through the innovative use of the program ‘Rhino’ and its add-on ‘Grasshopper,’ allowing for the curation of a striking coral structure. This captivating creation served as a poignant visual representation of the environmental impact. The project’s integration into the ‘Collaborative Practice’ initiative added a layer of synergy, emphasizing the importance of working together to address critical environmental challenges. By melding creativity, technology, and collaboration, ‘Bleached’ aimed to inspire awareness and advocacy, urging viewers to become agents of positive change for the protection of our oceans and marine life on fragile marine ecosystems. Incorporating Augmented Reality (AR) technology further elevated the project’s impact, breathing life into the concept and offering an immersive experience for viewers. Developed collaboratively with a fellow coursemate, ‘Bleached’ became a powerful expression of the urgent need for environmental consciousness and collective action to combat plastic pollution and its detrimental effects on our oceans.
